Christmas Sense

Christmas Sense

Open your eyes
Allow the light to come in.
See the star that gives hope from within.

Open your mouth
Sing songs of great joy.
Exalting the Christ child much more than a toy.

Open your ears
To the words of life.
He brings an end to all strife.

Open your nose
Breath in the great smells,
Of a fragrance that brings memories and tales.

Open your heart
Allow Him to enter
It'll bring peace and joy and feel so much better.

Seuss Sonnet Higher Up

Seuss Sonnet Higher Up. 2020.
It's been said that you were born to stand out.
You have grown up with your head full of brains.
That things will happen, that there is no doubt.
With feet in shoes and gusto in your veins.

Learnt that only you control what is next,
Stepping with care and great tact you did find,
That this great balance of life is complex.
Success and You will indeed be aligned.

Today is your day. Congrats on your gain.
You are now on your way up to great sights.
As a high flier like you don't need a plane.
Cause you bring focus on things to high heights.

So I know you know your brains in your head.
Go, fly higher for great things are ahead.

Tough, Tougher and Toughest

Tough, Tougher and Toughest
You tell me what your going through.
A tough time that you have no clue.
Tell you what to do, I'll never.
With my heart listen, no pressure.

I know you have it with in you.
The strength enough to get you through.
I would wish the greatest of these.
Blessings on you and a tight squeeze.

I can't say it better than Dr. Seuss
“And when you’re alone there’s a very good chance
you’ll meet things that scare you right out of your pants
There are some, down the road between hither and yon,
that can scare you so much you won’t want to go on.”

I think you see that you know what will come:
“Out there things can happen, and frequently do,
To people as brainy and footsy as you.
And when things start to happen, don’t worry, don’t stew.
Just go right along, you’ll start happening too!”

Neighbor Sonnet

A Sonnet of Lucky Neighbors

When we moved across country it was hard.
Our family was no longer around.
Luck had us in it's grip just next yard.
Best neighbors are always hard to be found.

Wally and Janet was the best pair known.
From his front porch I got to know the man.
Come home from work to sit on his front throne.
Advice given to his number one fan.

What can I say about the best grannie.
She always kept my boys fed with cookies.
To Watch out for our dog she was handy.
You could get away with lotsa goodies.

I hope to continue to love like that.
Their love for each other never went flat.

#GiveThanks poem about Pres Nelson's talk about Gratitude

 Bring the Light

Count them up, your blessings can show,
That your problems don't define you.
With these gifts from God you can go.
Share this Light with more than just a few.

Savior's example was doin' good,
If you light up all where you stand,
Focus for all can change, it could,
Make this year finish more than grand.

One could think this has been the worst.
With global outbreak and despair.
Yet focus on the good will nurse,
Our lives to heal by using prayer.

Calaverita para la Abuelita Bonita hermosa como las Flores de primavera

No importa si no tengo hambre.

Mariachis buscan Amadita.
Enfermos querian cita.
Exigente en todo exacto.
Evitaba la muerte con su extracto.

Pasaba por el rio de Cocula.
Mirando mi reflexion tan chula.
Escuche y me llegaron los espantos.
"Ay mis hijos" fueron los llantos.

Calaverita de Melita

Calaverita de Melita
Si no cuidas a mi hijita.
Te ranco tu orejita.
Hoy en dia sigo a la Melita.
Para evitar su visita.

Tres Brujas de Cocula

 Tres brujas de Cocula

Todos andaban bien catrina.
Tres brujas en una tina.
Como seria si no sabian remar.
Si no tendrian que gritar.

Dressed to go to a club.
Three witches in a tub.
What if they don't know to paddle.
Then they won't be able to skedaddle.

What is in your name

 What is in your name

Here we have two hearts joined as one.
Adjoin your hands together and have lots of fun.
In and even through all types of strive.
Love each other more each day of your life.
Exactly how much money you have can butt in.
Yet realize it takes time to find that win.

Joined together today will bring anew.
Our love, now you say it, our love is unique, cause we are too.
Share all things together and fix things unitedly.
Home is where your heart and hat should always try to be.
United you will find purpose from above.
Always open her door and don't forget to say "Yes My Love"

A True Love Is

 A True Love Is

I do declare the marriage of true love.
Two minded people sealed from above.
Change can happen in your lover,
Even if neither wants to uncover.
It's not the ship that will take you far,
but your focus on that guiding star.
Life will force marks upon you.
Love, true love will help you through.

Drafted

Drafted
As horrible as it is, this war had begun.
His draft number got pulled out of a ton.
Basic training for him started with drills.
Sent to San Francisco with all those hills.
Not before he had time to tie the knot,
To the girl of his dreams, ready or not.
His time in the army lasted a year.
With his honorable discharge he said Hello Dear!

The Right Stuff

The Right Stuff
How does she do such great feats?
Does her clock tick to multiple beats?
She taught me to sew and then some.
Not sure where all the energy comes from.
Greatest at organizing, so We'll be just fine.
I think her brain is twice the size of Einstein.
She braids her bread that rises to the sky.
She must get her answers from on high.
She is one of those that are Greatest of these.
Taught me, she did to say thanks and please.
Don't think I can ever give thanks enough.
But from God, she got all the right stuff.

Point Me The Way To Go

Point Me The Way To Go

I am told of this change in me.
Never could I imagine nor see.
It has arrived, the time is now.
I might need help, I don't know how.
My past will show the change to do.
In my future and I trust in me too.
I have yet to break out of this cocoon,
nor off the ground to my own tune.
Feel the breeze beneath my wings.
Breath in the smell of things.
Show off my brightest color
My show will be the greatest wonder.

Dream Race

Dream Race
A long time ago I dreamed a dream.
I was in a race that starts in a stream.
My mom and I, We're in it to win it.
With the start of the race. I say "Wait a minute.
I forgot my shoes so our start is delayed.
Even with a strange course, we never strayed.
We passed all the others and won the race.
It was because we had a really good pace.
We took first place with a time of 6 and half.
Waking from the dream thinking this was no laugh.
My dream showed me that time remaining.
On my mission should be for working and not complaining.

In 1994 I had this dream, even still vivid today. Now as I was out running I saw this scene that reminded me of a poem I wrote last week about this dream.   The dream helped me to finish my mission working at what I was doing out there. It was a heavenly reminder.

Love of a Warrior

Love of a Warrior

Have you heard of this legendary love story
With a warrior and princess in all of their glory.
they wanted to marry and be together forever.
Defeat the enemy or come back never.
She was told her love had died in combat.
This caused her heart to stop, just like that.
He returned from the war to discover.
That there was no way to recover.
He built her an enormous burial.
Placing her on top, like a grand imperial.
Crouching, watching with his smoking torch.
Waiting for his love to awake on his front porch.

Isolation, is it?

Isolation, is it?
Run first thing and sweat it.
Eat your breakfast and enjoy it.
Go to work and do it.
Go to store and buy it.
Cover your face and avoid it.
Swim in the pool and drown it.
Stream netflix and veg it.
Read your scriptures and search it.
Bow your head and pray it.
Soon your isolation will end,  will it?

It's all in the words

It's all in the words

Bump I go into the night
Embraced by its awful fright.
A horror filled fixture appears
with a howl that spins my gears.
It appears with a lonely shimmer
My resolve should be not to look in the mirror.

Her Eyes

Her Eyes
I could stare at them for hours.
Find myself lost by some unforeseen powers.
I dare not blink and try to guess
Why she would consider to say yes.

Yes her eyes are only part of her beauty
She really is the full package of a cutie.
I thank God that she has two eyes.
Each day i get a double surprise.

I wrote this as a response poem to one I wrote a year ago called My Love. http://pachathepoet.blogspot.com/2019/01/my-love.html

Grandma's Cookies

Grandma's Cookies
At the store I see it all packaged up
Does it make me want milk in a cup.
No way, nothing can still compare
You would think it was so rare.

It was something so small
But even today i can remember all.
She would bring them out frozen
Enclosed in a bread sack, she had chosen.

Open the bag, even frozen, I smell the oatmeal.
Biting into it, you know this is real.
Give it a little bit to unfreeze.
Don't forget to tell her thank you and please.

I have seen the recipe but that won't be the same.
I would hope that you can see it wasn't for the fame.
Was it the smell or maybe even the taste.
Nope it was her and her cookies never went to waste

Easter is now spoken

Easter is now spoken
I know how you feel.
I know what makes it real.
Really, how do you know?
What have you done that can show?
Oh my dear little one, how much have I done.
Why, I have overcome all, and it really wasn't fun.
For you I have lost my life, so you can shine.
Remember it was the Father's will not mine.
It was a wise purpose by the creator.
A need for a resurrection a little while later.
All are caught by that awful monster
But I have made it so all can prosper.
Thank you Lord for now I see.
What you have done for me.

#GoodFridayFast

#GoodFridayFast

Father we pray for your help at this time
We feel our life strains being pulled as we climb.
May this current pandemic plateau and be controlled
Protect those medical caregivers who are more precious than gold
Allow our economy to recover and be energized
Our hope is that our life can soon be normalized.

But I remember my uncle

But I remember my uncle

Each day I give thanks to God for each moment,
Interact with my Uncle confronting his opponent.
this disease is scary and at times feels bleek,
but
his life is not over and his story is still deep.

I can't imagine how my Aunt goes throughout each day,
from sun up to sun down and she says it is okay.
Struggling and fighting pretty much all the unknown,
but
they both have life and love is shown.

He would ask me to help if I could,
I would always reply that I definitely would.
His computer would have glitches,
but
We would sit and talk about his riches.
Today he has problems and calls me to his kitchen,
So we continue to sit as I anxiously listen.
Yes his speech is slower and it takes a tad bit longer,
but
he still has many things to share and this makes me stronger.

Moving around is possible yet his progress is slow,
zooming around with the walker is the best way to go.
Each step that he takes is such a great battle,
but
gravity will not defeat him nor will it kick him off his saddle.

It is time

It is time

A poem dedicated to my Uncle Darrell and the parkinsons that he has had fits with on a daily basis.

It is time
Patiently I wait for them to come
Look at my phone, did they text,
two times or maybe even three.
Nope, no message has come through
As it turns out that my Aunt
just simply missed the turn
cause never has she learned
to trust Google Maps.

It is time
I go help him out of the car
We really are not that far
So happy I am to see him
Are you ready to eat, you look slim?
"Yes it is Faby's cooking that I came for
Now we had better go in"

It is time
Each step we take along the floor
one step, two step, three step, four.
It seems as though you are walking better
He replies "No I still have my fetter
"It always seems that my feet
are lagging further behind,
Really just before my eyes"

It is time
That passes as we walk to the door.
Almost 100 full moons have scored.
Much more time has passed for him
For it all seems slow when he moves his limb.
Each step seems to be a big score,
He is just begging for more.

It is time
as we pass the entrance of the door
That darn doorsill is a huge sore.
tricky it is to pass across
He just needs to show who is boss.
He started his therapy at first sight
For it started to restrict bit by bite.

It is time
as he sits down at the table
this motion is not very stable.
never does he stop because he still is able.
Help him, cause if not, he could be unable.
There is hope that medicine will take effect
for pills and oil keep him in check.

It is time
for us to give thanks to the Father
Humble prayer is never a bother.
we bow our heads with much gratitude
This will bring us to a greater altitude.
it is through that higher power
That he goes by each hour.

It is time
that we eat our dinner
He digs in like a winner.
With both hands he puts focus
No one really takes notice.
His body has changed a little
Carved away by a whittle.

It is time
for him to go home on his feet
til the next time we greet.
we wish each other well
For sometimes it could be a long spell.

Fabulosa Preciosa como Flores poderosas

Fabulosa Preciosa como Flores poderosas

Precious and Fabulous like powerful flowers
I ride atop a powerful steed.
To places I know and others I need.
Why do I go there many enquire.
To stop or calm that which I desire.
Some might say that man is insane.
I would say that I boarded a train.
Many a moon I looked into her eyes.
I knew that she would always be the prize.
This train will take us to a wonderful land.
Dont care where cause my travel partner is really that grand.
