I've a story for you to hear, so listen up.
A story not for the faint to hear, so heads-up.
We drove along the dirt road while on our way here.
With pine trees aligning the road, the same each year.
Around each corner you would think, are we there yet?
Anxious to sit near this campfire, glad it's not wet.
When the road seems to end, did we take a wrong turn?
Our journey has started out on a big downturn.
In the road someone has parked a small little car.
And he's still siting in it, inclined back too far.
We honk really loud to make our presence known.
He didn't move at that sound he was still as a stone.
We all went silent for we all knew what we found.
It's "Drop Dead Fred", we were scared and turned right around.
None has been seen alive after seeing him dead.
We hope it won't happen to us, it's not our deathbed.
Lucky that we are here now around open flame.
Won't take that shortcut again to avoid such fame.
Now that tent over there it seems to be flashing.
Take this flashlight right here and slowly in passing,
Check to see if that is not his tent over there.
For the story goes he will take you to his lair.
Never to be seen again. If you do see him,
Run back here as fast you can and will sing his hymn.
Drop Dead Fred.
Drop Dead Fred.
You're made up in my head.
