How do I react? 2023-05-22

You'd think that we always know how to react.

After peaceful floating down the river.

Silence severed, causes me to shiver.

Pugnacious event almost made contact.

Didn't stop there cause a third couldn't keep quiet.

Denigrating words to hurt or ev'n more.

Everyone's emotions about to soar.

Luck came and we avoided the riot.

How do you help in times of a flare-up?

What if I step up or do I call-out?

Do I try to avoid the eye contact?

Is it the right time or place to speak up?

What if it happened and a fight broke out?

Sure, Do I always know how to react?

Have you heard that he will arrive.

Savior and King who helps us strive.

He prepared the temple for me,

To connect with the Father on bended knee.

Heavenly words shared to both of us

Given to understand and discuss.

A sacrament of supper to represent

His body and blood was spent.

He completed the transaction of the Law.

Atoned for all including every flaw.

His betrayal and trial led him

To give of his life which we sing in our hymns.

Started this great work to bring all

To know we can be saved, even big and small.

The great blessing of this Atonement remit.

Receive it. Practice it. Share it. Cherish it. Love It.

Spring keeps springing which brings flowers.

Book after book you have read

Word after word, enough has been said.

Submitting papers with so many nouns.

No video chat cause your one of those clowns.

University life has so many ups and downs

Graduating will have the biggest sounds.

So what was the point of all this work.

The title of 'Graduate' can be a big perk.

Go find your niche that will make you rich

Before you end up in a ditch.

Where did the time go you hear it said.

It don't matter cause you can now make YOU instead.

What would you do with joy, when before you

A cross to bear was placed on your shoulders.

Find joy in the voice of Love, stick with glue

The voice of God it's found. Be a holder

Showing this love to our neighbor and God.

For family members by moments shared.

Kindness gave with a spirit of one squad.

Focus on what needs are to be repaired

A grand pearl of greatest price can be found

When with God you are eternally bound.

I do wish that we could go back

Sounds of Christmas

Christmas sounds ring loud each year.

Songs of the Christ child playing proud.

A bell rings loud for all to hear,

With the hope it will touch all in the crowd.

Violin strings rip open our heart,

Allowing us to commune with God.

With a Trumpet it plays well it's part,

Pushes us with this celestial prod.

Sopranos notes makes us alert.

The alto combines to make it round.

Tenor sounds will not subvert.

Bass connects celestial to our ground.

Christmas Signs

Look for Christmas signs arrival.

Nothing compares as a rival.

You'd think it's hard to do each year.

Some people do have to steer.

With each turkey cooked it's not strange.

A feeling in the air does change.

A spirit dressed in red tinsel.

With wishes dispels all sinful.

Presents are staged around the tree.

For families, yes, you and me.

Lights are twinkling from heart to heart.

Celebrate God’s love is a start.

With the birth of the Christ child came

Those who searched a light to reclaim.

Search for it through him who creates

By sharing this with those who awaits.

This holiday packed full of lights,

With Christmas trees at higher heights.

Wish lists made to be wrapped in gold.

Slow down now, take time to behold.

Is it really hard to believe
