Complicated Reese

Complicated Reese

A ladder I climb to reach for the sky
to follow in the footsteps of a special guy
if all men were to be like him
you really don't meet on a whim.
I believe that all there is he can repair.
A Crack of dawn or a broken heart might not be fair.
Each daily step taken will show to me
The best man that I am meant to be.

Nieces Galore

Nieces Galore

From young baby to young bride
My feelings about them i will not hide.
All my nieces are really such cuties.
That each has their own inner beauty.
No matter their age they are really smart.
They have smiles that can melt the core of any heart
You really should listen to their laughter
It rings from here and into the hereafter.

It breaks my heart to see her fat lip
Stick out after I tell her to stop it.
So willing to jump in our pool.
When the water was way more than cool.

It is time

Poem:  It is time

A poem dedicated to my Uncle Darrell and the parkinsons that he fits with on a daily basis

It is time
Patiently I wait for them to come
Look at my phone, did they text,
two times or maybe even three.
Nope, no message has come through
As it turns out that my Aunt
just simply missed the turn
cause never has she learned
to trust Google Maps

It is time
I go help him out of the car
We really are not that far
So happy I am to see him
Are you ready to eat, you look slim?
"Yes it is Faby's cooking that I came for
Now we had better go in"

It is time
Each step we take along the floor
one step, two step, three step, four.
It seems as though you are walking better
He replies "No I still have my fetter
"It always seems that my feet
are lagging further behind,
Really just before my eyes"

It is time
That passes as we walk to the door.
Almost 100 full moons have scored.
Much more time has passed for him
For it all seems slow when he moves his limb.
Each step seems to be a big score,
He is just begging for more.

It is time
as we pass the entrance of the door
That darn doorsill is a huge sore.
tricky it is to pass across
He just needs to show who is boss.
He started his therapy at first sight
For it started to restrict bit by bite.

It is time
as he sits down at the table
this motion is not very stable.
never does he stop because he still is able.
Help him, cause if not, he could be unable.
There is hope that medicine will take effect
for pills and oil keep him in check.

It is time
for us to give thanks to the Father
Humble prayer is never a bother.
we bow our heads with much gratitude
This will bring us to a greater altitude.
it is through that higher power
That he goes by each hour.

It is time
that we eat our dinner
He digs in like a winner.
With both hands he puts focus
No one really takes notice.
His body has changed a little
Carved away by a whittle.

It is time
for him to go home on his feet
til the next time we greet.
we wish each other well
For sometimes it could be a long spell.

The Great Inventor

The Great Inventor

A poem dedicated to my Uncle Stewie

Always impressed by his great mind
He would come up with things that bind.

Invention here and others there,
Could he have thought to invent air.

He knew this life is a struggle
Sometimes he found it was double.

Unwelcome death, your like a thief,
sickle striks hard, still in disbelief.

Time is something we have today,
It will not cheat or lead away.

If he where here he might just say,
Go and build something great today.

Summary of our Lives

Summary of our Lives

Two diverse worlds established at opposite ends of our universe.  Neither speaking the same language. Unique traditional heritages formed many years ago. Dissimilar and somewhat divergent in each their own way.  Yet one thing combined them, focused them and joined them together even before they actually met.  Both heeded the call to wake up and put their shoulder to the wheel. A time to follow in His footsteps and spread His word. Accepting the challenge and answering the call to serve. Each path leading them to the enchanted land of Oaxaca Mexico.  Neither had a desire, nor understanding of what to expect, not even what was to come.
They did not falter while defending truth and right, neither did they shrink nor shun the fight. Hardships came and hardships went. Yet abounding in laughter and joy with a fullness that only came from fulfilling that call.
Brush encounters sparking along the way.  Hints of what could become in the future recorded in their eyes and in their hearts. Nothing really set in stone, neither inflaming in their hearts.  That is until the time was over to serve.

The universe helped these two worlds to collide one last time. With letters of love, eternal songs of time and phone calls of friendship, the binding of these two worlds now became one. Sealed together through the eternal bonds and keys of the priesthood power. With the promise to repeat the call and now serve together hand in hand, with a prayer in our hearts, and with all our might mind and soul.
A new world created between the two. That love of the Savior that they shared in the mission field now converted into a love that they shared towards each other. Expanding the bounds of this new world by giving 3 wonderful boys the opportunity to live and learn what this life is all about.
We have shared our life experiences together starting in Utah, where our boys were born. We learned firsthand of life and its hardships it brings. Yet in Lowell Massachusetts we learned that life is delicate. Life is precious. Our love grew to all those around us. After 16 years our world moved to Arizona. We now enjoy the sun, the temple, work and family.
Our world that we created 23 years ago has taken us back many times to Mexico even to that enchanted land of Oaxaca.
Now our world awaits in ready for the future, with love and happiness in our hearts. We hope to share it with our expanded worlds yet to come.
